We are working on the final plans for the deck expansion as well as the Santa Maria shelter house and Bar-B-Que.. The barrel sauna is also in the final phases. If all goes well it will be in by June 1st. This will be our busiest summer yet and we know you have a great time…… If you have never heard of a Santa Maria type Bar-B-Q it is a real wood stone or brick pit and the grill lowers and raise to adjust the heat. Real oak or hickory logs are used and it is open. The open pit keeps the smoke at a level that does not bitter the meat and at the same time gives the meat a wonderful smoked flavor…We are also hoping to have a electric rotisserie over the the pit for pigs and turkeys.. It will be awesome. We post some pictures as soon as the shelter and pit is completed.

Winter is here and it finally is quite cold …we even have snow on the ground at the Tara. The driveway is clear and is easily accessed from 93. There are lots of good things about staying at Tara during the winter. The Grand Tara is know for her comfort and entertainment. She definitely lives up to her name. Just go to our album and take a look at all the entertainment and things to do during the cold days of winter. Take a getaway and and spoil yourself for a couple days. you will be glad you did!

The Upstairs game room mural is coming. Our Incredible artist D. Hopsteter is almost finished w/ the cut out for the air brushing and he’s been working real hard. The cut out has to be done meticulously w/ a razor knife and the work is tedious and slow. The mural is a replica of the Wright brothers plane and is almost 8 ft in length. Our theme is going to be aeronautics and space. This mural has already been in the works for 2 months and will be a very special addition to out Gameroom. We will put pictures as soon as it’s completed. There are still a couple days left for spring and summer book now to avoid the after the holiday rush. Have a Great day The Grand Tara Lodge

Well here we go again …The Grand Tara Lodge every year During the spring adds some new and wondrous items to it’s already unbelievable entertainment and amenities…So what’s up… We will be building a brand new Shelter house outback with a Bar-B-Q, pic-nic tables and whatever else we come up with, and we will be expanding the deck out back and adding a large barrel sauna like this one …and it will be right on the deck outside the lodge. It should all be completed this spring…Come on down and check things out… March still has weekend availability Yea !Baby Yea!

The Grand Tara Lodge has in its designing plans and is building a new shelter that will have pic nic tables and outdoor BarBQ. It is scheduled for this upcoming summer. Yes and everyone knows how we do things at the Grand Tara. It will be a beautiful structure and another excellent feature for family outdoor gatherings.

Winter in the Grand Tara Lodge is awesome. Kick back and watch a a flick on our big screen or cozy up to a warm fire in front of the wood burning fire place. We have plenty of weekends left (JANUARY-MAY 2012) These dates will start to book starting Now. The Grand Tara lodge is a great place to getaway for a weekend with big or small family’s. The Grand Tara lodge in the Hocking Hills has plenty to do and plenty to see and is literally 8 mins to Oldman’s Cave ,Ash Cave ,Conkles hollow and the State parks and at the same time only 8 minutes to The Kroger grocery and shops…We still have plenty of fall weekday availability and January/February/March and April and May have plenty of weekends and weekdays left…They wont last get them why you can. Our Fall,Winters and Springs are also beautiful.
